Inspiring Movie Recommendations

Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm a major movie buff.

I don't watch one specific genre thought as a girl rom-coms are typically my go to however I can watch sci-fi/fantasy and action movies with the best of them. I will be seen watching cartoons, period dramas movies from the 30s-60s and will even be seen watching the 80s and 90s classics on occasion.

However, as of late I have been all about the inspirational movies, movies that deal with real life problems, movies that show the issues then present a possible fix. Inspiring movies about inspiring people. So I decided to take some time and recommend a few. I'll be honest I'm not going to go into detail. If you haven't seen them take the time and look up the movie yourself OR ask me one on one, comment here, and I'll comment back but I'll have just enough time before I have to fix lunch and clean to name the movies and I'll try to give a one or 2 sentence explanation.

1. October Baby- the story of a young girl who discovers she has a health problem due the abortion her mother was hoping to have, that failed. It's her journey of discovering life and going on a search for her mother, but finding so much more.

2. -5. I'm just going to name 4 movies created by Sherwood pictures here- Flywheel, Facing The Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous. Each movie is set in a different situation. Flywheel- Deals with a car sales man who cheats his customers and realizes he's wrong. Facing The Giants, a football team who is on a losing streak, the coach changes the team philosophy and the losing streak changes, Fireproof- "Never leave your partner, especially in a fire." A movie about a fireman and his wife. It's a great movie for those who are married or planning to be married. Courageous- A movie set with police officers who discover the true meaning of being a father and family and head of their household, all while fighting crime in a dangerous area.

6. War Room- A movie taking war strategies and applying them to life.

7. Time Changer- Set in the 1800s and early 2000s a man goes into the future to discover that God's law and morals should always go hand in hand.

8. The Theory of Everything- A dying man connects with his estranged son and searches for the existence of God.

9. This is Our Time- 5 college graduates and friends face life after graduation and try to stay true to who God created them to be, in a world that tries to mess with them. Tragedy strikes and it forces them to really face the truth.

10. Mom's Night Out- A good look at the crazy stressful life of mommyhood, it's a funny movie that I've watched with many of my mom friends, because I know how stressed they get and this movie has been just what they need to take a breather.

11-14. Joshua, WWJD, WWJD 2 The Wood Carver, WWJD The Journey Continues- Joshua is a "What if Jesus walked among us now" Type of movie, It's set in the early 2000s as that is when it was made, and Joshua comes to this town helping people, facing similar challenges like those in the Bible. Really great movie, no way an explanation can do it justice. The WWJD movies are basically each about a group of people (different people each movie) Who choose to live life and make decisions based on "What would Jesus Do"

15. To Save A Life- a great movie for teens it's about being there for others and not letting people just fall to the side. Don't let yourself judge people because they are different. Being nice to just one of those "different" people could mean the difference of life and death to them.

16-17. Perfect Stranger and Another Perfect Stranger- What would it be like to have a conversation with Jesus? What would you talk about? Watch these two movies where two people get to have that chance.

18. At Jesus Side- Want a movie for your kids to watch? This is a cartoon with a different take on the last week of Jesus life. You get to watch as a dog and his animal friends get to know Jesus as He goes through His final week.

19-29. The entire Love Comes Softly Series- Yes it's a Period Drama series set in the 1800s. Hallmark movies, and there are in fact 11 of them. This series follows a family through several generations as you learn about their good and bad times and see them overcome and persevere deaths of spouses, injuries, sickness, fires and so much more.

30. In Love With A Church Girl- Ever wonder what it's like being in a relationship that is unequally yoked by todays standards? This movie is about a man with a dark past who falls in love with a very strong Christian woman. Based on a true story, had this woman just wrote him off in the beginning this man never would have seen the love of God the way he needed to.

31-33. The Left Behind series. 3 movies... and yes they have Kirk Cameron in them. These movies, based on the books by the same name are great for a person who wants action with a good message. Based on the concept of the rapture these books are a fiction telling of that time.

34-35. The book of Esther and The Book of Daniel- These are movies that take the bible stories of these two people and put them in movie form. Great encouragement is shown in these movies. Other great Esther stories to mention are One Night With the King and The Bible Stories ESTHER.

There are obviously other encouraging and uplifting movies that are inspirational that are not mentioned in this list. Some of them considered Christian movies, others are just Hallmark (Signed Sealed and Delivered- Kind of like a mail offices version of Touched by an Angel) or Lifetime movies, some are Disney movies (Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day, The Odd Life of Timothy Green) There everywhere... just keep your eyes open and your head up.

If you've seen any of these and want to comment, feel free I would love to hear from you. If you haven't seen these, please check them out then tell me what you think.

Well, God bless! Blog atcha later!
